Yes it was overrated. He got you with the combo's. Holmes said Tyson didn't hit as hard as people said. It took Tyson 3 knockdowns just to TKO Holmes, and Holmes was getting up before the count of 10. Tyson doesn't have very many 1 punch KO's, he has more combo KO's. Typicaly it is 1 shot that gets the guy hurt, and it is the other 3 punches afterwards that took them down. I mean look at what he had to do to Holmes to get him down. He was landing huge BOMBS in packs of 5 and 6, and Holmes was only stumbled, and went down twice from them, and the 3rd time, Tyson is lucky the ropes caught Holmes's uppercut and not his chin. Tyson is constantly being overrated, and loved. People need to take the time to watch his fights over and over again closely, and you will see that it is 1 punch that hurts the guy, and its the follow up combo that puts them down or finishes them.

And most guys he fought were twice his size. almost all fighters WITH power still end their fights with combos. The key word in your statement is "TKO Holmes". As with most his fights, it ended in a tko or ko which means POWER. That's funny Holmes said Tyson didn't hit as hard as people say, but still saw the canvas 3 times! He must have been slapping him.

50 Wins, 6 Losses, 2 No Contest, 44 KNOCKOUTS
Only 6 wins out of 50 were not by way of knockout.

Nuts, I don't think mike was overrated. Just misguided.

holmes didn't like mike very much you'd expect him to say this, for larry to say he cant punch doesnt reflect to well on himself.

Look at how fast Holmes got up. And the first knock down had litteraly a push for help. Holmes was only given 4 weeks to train, he had been retired for 2 years, and was 38 years old (17 years older than Tyson).

Larry never said Tyson couldn't punch. He said he just doesn't hit as hard as people say he does. Larry fought soooo many hard hitters, I think he tell who hit harder than who. He said Tyson still hit very hard, he just said that he isn't the hardest hitter he has faced. As I said, it was Tyson's combo's that took the guy's out. It took 5-6 bombs in a row from Tyson landing flush to put Larry down or stumble him.

Look how he dropped like a rock with that 1st knockdown. The 2nd kd was because he was still hurt from the 1st. And then look at the 3rd kd. how long did it take to get up off his back? Holmes is like 6 inches taller then Tyson, how much power did Tyson actually lose by having to punch up? If they were the same size, OUCH! As far as the 4 weeks to train, if he wasn't ready he should not have been in there. Which all the time in the world would not have made a difference. Holmes looked more like John Ruiz in that fight, GRAB HIM AS MUCH AS I CAN SO HE DON'T KNOCK MY BLOCK OFF!!!
