Hi all. My son is into MMA and needed boxing gloves. I got these...

Layered Boxing Gloves - Boxing Gloves - By Century

The 14oz. size. Now I'm being told I should have gotten the 16oz.size.(No one told me about it amonth ago). I know nothing about this. Is there a noticable difference. It took me 2 weeks to get these. I'm really not thrilled about waiting another 2 weeks if I have to send these back and re-order.
Can anyone help me?

They will be ok if all he's doing is bag work. Make sure he wears handwraps underneath as well. Century doesnt exactly make the best quality product, so I wouldn't recommend them for sparring. If/when he's ready for his next pair, take a look at TitleBoxing.com or Ringside.com for pro quality stuff at reasonable prices.

Even those are lower end. You find those in Dicks sporting goods and Sports Authority stores. I'm referring more to the actual Title brand gloves or Ringside brand gloves. They manufacture their own pro quality gloves which are a much higher safety and manufacturing standard than those you posted the link to. And of course everlast makes their own professional quality as well.
