What happened to the heavyweights? The last real champion in my view was Lennox Lewis, but since, no-one. The best in the last few years- Klitchko, Byrd, Toney, Peter, Jones are all not up to the standard of say 20-30 years ago, with the exception of Jones in his early career. Boxing must save it's most majestic weight to survive. The problem is, as with most boxing weights, is that why would a lot of talented fighters turn to a dangerous, hard combat sport rather than soccer or baseball. Also most youngsters have too much temptations to deal with- Fast food, alcohol, cigarettes, girls etc. Give replies to this worrying situation.

I'll tell you what happened, they got lazy, spoiled, and the promoters created to many belts. THe trainers could be better too.

I agree and I think that heavyweights are boxing for money rather than pride. What will the current crop be able to tell their children and grandchildren- Oh son, my best win was against Ruiz or yes grandson, I won Valuev. I don't think the youth will be ver excited by those names do you?

Nope, the last true champ retired 3 years ago (Lennox Lewis), If I were any of the heavyweight champs right now, I would be really pushing to fight the other 3 champs. THERE ARE 4 CHAMPS!!!!! That is 3 to many.

I hate what The Heavyweight Division has become... all of the once great heavyweights have either retired (Tyson, Lewis), kept going... in spite of the fact that they're way past and really should give it away (Holyfield), or were once great in a lesser Weight Division... only packed on the pounds... limiting their true ability and skill... and are also past it and aging (James Toney... a once great boxer... turned joke)! I don't care about those 2 Ukranian Guys... of that Big Russian Guy... or that Russian-American Maskaev... they're all old... and I'd never heard of them until a year or so ago! They're nobodies... REALLY... they are! I know you all hear me praise Samuel Peter... but even I will admit there is still some work to be done by "The Nigerian Nightmare"... other than that... Heavyweight Boxing is dead! On the other hand... most... if not all... of the other Weight Division are alive and well... CHEERS!
PS ~ Drugs, Alcohol, Sex, Partying, Women, Junk Food and Food in General, Spoilt Lifestyles... if you wanna take boxing seriously... SLAY THOSE DEMONS!

Vitali and wlad klitchkos are good heavyweights but vitali is retired now. The division is full of lazy and arogany fighters that are not worthy of havin the name world champion. Its about time some new talent came in to the division to put it back in track.
