thank you for all your feed back. it is also sad to hear, although very well known, that HBO discrimanates against woman boxers. it is a fact that they work and fight just as hard a male boxers to achieve their goals. SHAME ON HBO. i imagine if they knew how much they would gain by allowing female boxing on HBO they would change their minds.

It has her listed as fighting Ijeoma Egbunine on the Klitschko/Brock undercard at MSG Nov 11. Alot could change by then.

I would much rather watch any men fight than womans boxing. So I hope it is not televised on HBO. I wouldnt mind watchin Ali vs Ann Wolfe but that is probably never gonna happen.
That is probably the 1 fight that could get a tiny bit of interest back to womens boxing. Yet they are to greedy or 1 of them is scared to do it.

At least Christy Martin was active in her prime. If Ali cared she would find a way to fight 4 times a year.

i totally agree that laila should definately try to be more active. that is why i asked where she was because i really thought she may have decided to leave her boxing career and start a family or something.
as far as her fight with ann wolfe...that would be a great fight. i am definately a laila fan but i think ann would give her a good run for her money.
i can understand why some would rather watch men box than woman. but that may be because they have been doing it longer and we are use to see men rather than woman. also because men fight harder and it is more exciting.

I think the women on HBO would be great, but once again the biggest problem for Laila and for a lot of good women boxers is finding good opponents. There are just not enough to go around.I'll bet that there are less than 800 women boxers in this country, bot amt. and pro. Here at home we have the #1 in the world and U.S. ,Franchon Crews, she always has fights dropping out. She has a tough time getting matches.Remember that name because she will be very good as a pro.She would do well on HBO.

By the way Cleo welcome to the board. Hope you stay active.

Thank you, and I definately stay active here. Although I am farely new to the enjoyment of boxing, I do have my favorites. I also watch boxing as often as I can.
I do have a question for everyone but I will ask it in another discussion.

laila ali v ann wolff now there's a fight id pay to see.
Definately. I think whether you like female boxing or not....that would be one to watch. It is a fight that has been wanted and talked about so much. I hope that one day they do finally fight. Although Laila is my favorite...I know Ann Wolff will give her a great run for her money.

It's always good when they do, makes the matches exciting, and the dramatic tension it all adds up to entertainment!
