Cotto is by far the superior body puncher. He is the best body puncher in the 140-154lbs range since the Great Legend Julio Cesar Chavez of Mexico. His body punches are designed to slowly but surely wear down his opponents and it's evident in his composure and poise througout the fight that he is not only aware of this, but counting on it. It's truely a pleasure to watch him fight being a fan of body punching.

Come on now. People are actually debating this? It's easily Cotto. Look at the facts. He turned around the Ricardo Torres fight with body work. He destroyed Carlos Quintana to the body. He made DeMarcus Corley take knees because of the body shots. He couldn't hurt Randall Baily to the head. But he hurt him to the body. He stopped Gianluca Branco with a fukking shoulder shot. Cotto's body work is the best in boxing. I can't believe people are actually saying otherwise.

You and me both VD. Cotto hits harder, hits faster, is stronger and is extremely accurate with those body shots, with both hands may I add.

How can someone sit here and say floyd is stronger than hatton and then come around and say hatton is stronger than cotto. Cotto is much much stronger than even mayweather.

Again i maybe going against the flow but i don't rate either as being particularly strong or powerful punchers certainly from their last couple of fights Hatton just "hit the collapse button perfectly to down Castillo.

I thought mosley was a lot stronger than cotto in the last couple of rounds and did not think cotto's bodywork affected him at all, in fact i thought cotto was the one being worn down. I was not overly impressed with his power against Judah neither.

If Judah or Mosely fought him again i believe both would win (they both appeared to only get more belief as the fight went into the later rounds)

and hatton will not beat mayweather as long as he has a whole in his ####

Hmm, I see it a little different Stephen. But Mosley is mosley, No one is knocking him out. Judah wasnt getting stronger, if he was, he wouldnt of been knocked out. But I will agree with not being impressed with hattons body punching. I think mosley is a better body puncher than him.

Fair point with Judah

but i just think he took a wobbler in th efight and lost it more himself than cotto beating him down, i will watch it again though in case i hab=ve my rose tinted glasses on (which has been known to happen)

All the best

How quick we all forget...

Cotto wore Judah down with testicle shots. End of story! A dirty tactic, yes, but a tactic that worked.

Hatton has THE best left hook to the body in the game. Bar none. YOu can watch back to his very earliest fights and see how well he has utilized tha punch through the years. I'm not taking anything away from Cotto, but Hatton is a better body puncher. Especially at 140.

Cotto is the man when it comes to body attack. Without a doubt the best in boxing.

Hatton is a great bodypuncher (the Castillo bodyshot was wicked) but Cotto is better in that department IMO. He doesn't lead with it. He sets it up with great combos and thows it with fluidity.

Judah fought gamely but he was getting more and more discouraged as the fight went on. Cotto was breaking him down slow...
