Sugar Ray Robinson... I believe he is the greatest boxer of all time... ever!!!:)

Sugar Ray Leonard... 'True Gentleman of the sport and Olympic Gold Medallist!'

Sugar Shane Mosley... One of the 'Gladiators' in the recent years of BOXING!!!

Is there "ANOTHER SUGAR" that I myself do not know about... I'd like to know!

ONE MORE THING... Interesting to note that Sugar Ray Robinson was born Walker Smith Jr. He took the place of a boxer called Ray Robinson in a match and somebody said that he was "AS SWEET AS SUGAR"... and Sugar Ray Robinson was born. Ray Charles was born Ray Charles Robinson and his name was changed to simply Ray Charles because of the similarities with the famous boxer at the time. Years later a baby boy called Ray Charles Leonard was born. He was named after Ray Charles. Boxing under the name of Rey Leonard... he personally asked Sugar Ray Robinson if he could use the name "Sugar"... and Sugar Ray Robinson said "YES!" So there's a bit of a link between Sugar Ray Robinson, Ray Charles and Sugar Ray Leonard!

Sugar Ray Seales was an extremly good middlewieght and a Gold Medal winner in the oypmics. Once held Hagler to a draw. Lost his title to Minter. He fought half blind for many years and still beat quality guys.
Ted-
I've never known if it's actually true or not,but I recall hearing that Sugar Ray Seales got by with fighting partially blind because he'd memorized the eye chart that was pretty much standard in most Doctors Offices. Have you heard that before,I'm wondering if that's true or not?

As far as the nickname Sugar,I recall a ESPN fighter(who wasn't too bad) in the Eighties by the name of Don "Sugar Ray" Caples. I used to always laugh because he wasn't even named Ray but included it in his nickname
   THAT IS PRETTY FUNNY!

The ONLY "Sugar" was Sugar Ray Robinson. End of discussion.:)
You're probably right there... Ray Leonard even asked the man himself if he could use the name Sugar. VOTING NOTE: Does anybody here even like Sugar Shane Mosley? BUT HE APPEARED ON LAS VEGAS? He must be a Superstar? (SARCASM ELEMENT... I never really liked Sugar Shane Mosley... and I never liked that DAMN show Las Vegas)!

I liked Shane Mosley when he was a lightweight.I thought he was going to be great. actually I thought he was pound for pound at that time.He faded a little when he went up in weight.I thought DeLahoya beat him in their second fight
