LOL ....
Well, Henry's is a good old boy, and I like Henry. But I fear that he may have fallen into this trend that came to subcribe to Muhummed Ali's SELF-MADE CLAIM of being the "Greatest," much out of nostaligia or even pity for the shell of Ali, we see now.
If Ali in his prime could have fought Rocky Marciano in his prime, we do know that its not as if Ali was boxer who could not be hit with a punch, and we do know that Marciano hit hard. I mean VERY hard.
We also do know that when Ali was in his prime he was almost knocked out by Henry Cooper who was a good fighter, but at best a club fighter.
Well, Rocky Marciano was no Henry Copper, and Marciano could punch hard, I mean VERY hard.
In a fight with Marciano, I would predict that Ali would evently get caught on the ropes and would be knocked out by Marciano.
Thanks for the comments JC, I feel the same way about you.
BUT, Ali was only 21 when he fought Cooper (not Copper) and Ali fought plenty of guys that were as hard as a hitter, if not harder, then Rocky and they couldn't put him away.
It's a known fact that Shavers was the hardest hitter of all times, it's his chin wasn't that good. Next would be Foreman and some of the other would be Frazier, Lyle, Liston, Cleveland Williams, Mac Foster, I could go on and on.
Again, who did Rocky fight that had a better punch then any of these guys. Louis, he was passed his prime, Walcott, Moore. I know Moore had the most knockouts but he also had 220 fights.
I would have LOVED to see Rocky go against the opponents that Ali did and I would LOVE to see Ali go against the Opponents that Rocky did.
Something tells me that Ali would do much better against Rocky's opponents then Rocky would do against Ali's.
