zab bs. Cotto? State your opinions.

Zab won tonight after 1 minute in the first round. The fight was ruled no contest. Zab imo caught him with a clean uppercut which caused the initial cut. After the missed left hook, Zab pulled back and IMO his left elbow grazed the open cut making it worse.

The bottom line was as predicted...Galvan had absolutely no chance against Zab and he looked great considering his opponent and time off.

I see him giving Cotto one hell of a fight and (I know nobody will agree but...) a possible fight of the year candidate. :)

I think it was the left hand that missed and the elbow grazed the temple is what caused that cut. Sure Judah was going to kill the guy but no way did the uppercut cause that cut. I have to agree with Teddy Atlas and say that this shows nothing about Judah because of the cut and early stoppage.
I think this matchup will be good also. If Cotto can put up with the speed of Judah for the first couple rounds then I think he has a great shot. I'll take Cotto in this fight!
Look in my opinion Cotto is over rated and will be exposed when he fights Zab Zab speed and acuracy will test Cotto chin early and we will see what he is made of to be fair you have to ask why Zab is getting the fight and not a guy like Berto,Clottey,Williams etc. I really feel like they (Cotto's management) are looking for a named guy to put in their resume and believe that Zab will fall apart when the time comes. mark my words when Cotto fight a guy with real power he will fall down and that's why the management will keep him away from the above mentioned guys for as long as they can. its a real shame that Corrales a #135 guy has the balls to take on Clottey but not Cotto!! to me he reminds me of Jeff Lacy allot and I think he will share the same fate.
and last thing as long as I have the soap box for all of the margie haters take notice he took on Clottey next is Williams before that Cintron so who's taking on better guys?
cintron was the future of the division when margie punk'd him, clottey would give any the strap holders hell with a chance of even winning, williams is on the same boat as cintron was being tipped as the future of the division and even winning titles at higher weights. margies compitition is now better than any fighter at 147 easily over the last 12 months.
I hope Zab can maintain his stamina for the entire fight and really test Cotto. If Zab lands enough of his power shots I see Cotto possibly going down.
Zab will test Cotto. I am ready to see him tested against a good fighter. But I can't go for a fighter that hasn't shown any heart in his last two fights. He gets beat by Baldy and then gives Floyd a fight for 4 rounds then stops? To top it off hes saying he's the best p4p fighter last night? Sorry, but I hope Cotto knocks his a$$ out!
Another thing, why does Judah even get a shot at Cotto and his alphabet title when he doesn't have a win in his last 3 fights? Weird!!
that's what I was talking about with the promoters as the problem Cotto's promoter views Zab as easy pickins so he gets the fight Williams,Margie,Clottey Berto and a few would be a real challenge so they are going to be avoiced at all cost look at Cintron he is a champ but I don't hear that he is looking so fight the best and make a statement.
cotto just fought his mando so he can realy fight whom ever he wants now, judah brings cash to the table and he's a credible name so it makes sense for cotto. he wouldn't have been my choice but he could have fought worse like gatti.
Tommy what do you think of Baldo vs Cotto? wouldn't that be a great match up?

2 strong guys who plod forward with little skill, it could be fun to watch. cotto wouldn't be able to bully baldomir the way he did quintana but he does have more pop. id think this could be quite close although im a fan of neither guy.
Baldi takes a great shot and Cotto does not that to me is the difference.

that could be a factor window, baldi looks a bit soft round the middle to and cotto could ware him down into the later rounds. i wouldn't think cotto would stop him though. id say it could be a SD or MD either way.

in my book neither guy is truly an elite fighter though.
If a fit and focused Zab shows up he beats Cotto imo. I think Cotto is quite overrated, and perhaps Zab is abit under-rated.. hes a hell of a fighter when he is actually up for it!
Zab's worst enemy is Zab he looked great against Floyd and could have pulled it out if he had worked harder in the gym he lost that fight in the gym not in the ring Floyd simply waited till Zab ran out of steam.

Gaa man we never agree. :)

First off, Zab will beat Cotto with speed and agility.

Secondly...Floyd did not wait for Zab to run out of steam. He did what he always does and bides his time slowly mapping out his opponent's faults and weeknesses. I swear nobody realizes how damn smart/clever he is. After he has the opponent mapped its over, gametime, time for the fat lady. I have watched all of his fights multiple times and this is quite evident in each of his most recent (4 or 5 year) bouts.

Zab did great to start the fight until Floyd figured out what he was doing and was able to avoid his shots for the most part and land his own.

And...Zab was on his way to getting knocked the fu*k out when he threw the low blow. He was hurt and was about to be on the ground in a tremendous amount of pain. That was one of my favorite Floyd fights of recent time.

Baldi/Cotto would just be Cotto beating up the body like always and Baldi taking the occasional head shot to his steel dome. Zab will put hands on Cotto.

And in those 4-5yrs Floyd has fought low level opponents. No wonder he looks so smart/clever! Must be the jeans. Just look how smart the rest of the family is.
uncle roger should recite poetry. :cheeky4:
He can read all the poetry about how he slapped his hoes and then Merchant cna go back and put it in metaphor form!
